Year 5 2021 - 2022
Welcome to Year 5
This term our BIG question is:
Does getting there make the climb worth it?
This term we will be learning about mountains and studying the journeys of famous explorers. Through this we will be dicussing how journeys can be both physically, emotionally and socially, and how the end point may not always be what we expect.
Our main texts for this term are: Shackleton's Journey by William Grill and Cogheart by Peter Bunzl.
The Curriculum Page on the website helps you find out much more about each of the subjects.
Our knowledge organisers can be downloaded here, so you can see exactly what the "sticky knowledge" is we want the children to learn.
Please familiarise yourself with the Teaching and Learning in Year 5 document you can download at the bottom of this page. It has lots of information about our day, what we learn and how we learn. The timetable for a usual week in Year 5 is also on this document.
